Mission Statement

As your student council we try our best to improve our school and reach our school's goal. Our goal is to make El Morro Elementary School a better and more eco-friendly place for the up coming students to learn. We also want the students to be satisfied with our school surroundings. We are coming up with some great new ideas that will make El Morro a better place. As your student council we will try our hardest and give it our all to make these goals happen. We ask you also to try your hardest to help our school improve. We do not want you to be disappointed with your school's activities, so that's why our Sport's Coordinator (Emily Addis) is making activities for you to enjoy. We want you to take pleasure in our school and make it a place that you want to come to everyday.
Thank You,
El Morro Student Council of 2010

Spirit Day

As we have told you in our flag assembly, we will be having a spirit day on Friday, May 21 to celebrate the end of STAR testing. On this day, it will be crazy hair or crazy hat day. And guess what, we will also be selling lemonade at lunch for only $1 per can! Make sure that you follow our school dress code and if you are wearing hair spray, make sure it is removable because you must have it taken off by the following Monday! Also, don't forget to recycle your cans! All of student council hopes you will like it! Be CRAZY!

Cell Phones for Soldier's

Cell Phones for Soldier's was an event that turns old cell phones into chips so soldiers can call home during war. Elijah Meisse helped out with this fundraiser. What they did was they stood by the disrict office for 2 hours with signs saying "Recylcle your old cell phones, Cell phones for soldier's." After this, they went to the track meet and did the same thing! One guy even brought FIVE cell phones. The total collection came out to be 12 cell phones! This fundraiser was very successful and we are still raising more too!

Nation Ball Tournament

Every year, student council organizes a sports event. This tri-mester's event was a nation ball tournament. This tournament was organized by Student Council Sports Coordinator Emily Addis. In this event, 4th and 5th graders faced off for the best record. The team that would have the best record from their grade would move on to play in the championship game. Those two teams were Mrs. Besecker from 4th grade, and Mr. Williams class from 5th grade. The championship game was hard fought, but in the end, only one went home with the Whiskers Cup, and that class was.................................... Mr. Williams room! This event was super fun and we hope it will continue for many years ahead!
